How It Works

YOUR RENTAL CAR, STEP BY STEP

01
Report the Accident to Your Insurance

Call your insurance company as soon as possible after the accident. Ask them specifically about rental car coverage and get a claim number. Most policies include rental reimbursement — but you have to ask.

02
Confirm Your Rental Coverage

Ask your adjuster: 'Does my policy include rental reimbursement?' Most comprehensive and collision policies do. Coverage typically ranges from $30–$50/day with a maximum of 30 days. If the other driver was at fault, their liability insurance must cover your rental.

03
Bring Your Vehicle to Firebird Collision

Once your claim is open, bring your vehicle to either of our locations. We will write the estimate, document all damage, and communicate directly with your insurance adjuster so you do not have to.

04
We Coordinate the Rental for You

We work directly with Enterprise, Hertz, and other major rental companies. In most cases, we can arrange for a rental vehicle to be delivered directly to our shop when you drop off your car — so you are never without transportation.

05
Pick Up Your Restored Vehicle

When your repairs are complete, we will notify you immediately. Return the rental and pick up your vehicle. We do a final walkthrough with you to ensure you are 100% satisfied before you leave.

RENTAL CAR FAQ

Who pays for my rental car after an accident?

If you were not at fault, the at-fault driver's liability insurance must pay for your rental. If you were at fault or fault is disputed, your own rental reimbursement coverage applies — if you have it. We can help you navigate this with your adjuster.

How long can I keep the rental car?

Your rental coverage typically lasts until your vehicle is repaired or until your policy limit is reached (usually 30 days). If repairs take longer, we can work with your insurer to extend coverage.

What if I do not have rental coverage?

We can still help. We work with rental companies that offer competitive daily rates, and in some cases we can negotiate a courtesy vehicle arrangement. Call us and we will find a solution.

Can I choose any rental car company?

Yes. You are not required to use any specific rental company. We have established relationships with Enterprise and Hertz and can coordinate pickup directly from our shop.

What if the other driver's insurance is disputing fault?

Do not wait. If you have rental coverage on your own policy, use it now and get reimbursed later once fault is determined. We can provide documentation to support your claim.

Does Firebird Collision handle the insurance paperwork?

Yes. We communicate directly with your adjuster, submit all required documentation, and advocate for a complete, proper repair. You focus on getting back to your life — we handle the insurance side.
